Welcome to the Interpreting and Translating Service NT (ITSNT) website.

Our vision is a Northern Territory that entitles its people, regardless of their cultural or linguistic background or ability to speak English, to access the services and resources of Government. 

ITSNT assists government and non-government agencies improve access to their programs and services by providing an effective and efficient on-site interpreting and translating service.

We have been providing interpreting and translating services in the Northern Territory since 1987.

We prefer to use interpreters and translators with accreditation obtained from the National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters (NAATI).

On request, ITSNT can conduct workshops for client agencies on Cross-Cultural Awareness and Working with Interpreters.

Those interested in becoming an on-site interpreter with our Service, you can submit an electronic expression of interest form. ITSNT staff will organise a convenient time for an interview and fluency assessment.
